A 21-year-old man was arrested on Monday on suspicion of killing a 29-year-old woman near Quarteira this summer.
Tatiana Mestre’s partially burnt body was found in a car on scrubland on August 27th. She had been beaten, tied up, gagged, murdered and the car set alight.
The unemployed man who has been arrested has a history of violent crime and was known to the victim.
The car was spotted by dog walkers who, realising that there was a body inside the vehicle, alerted the GNR. The area was sealed off and the Judicial Police started a murder inquiry.
