Faro is in 8th place, Portimão 16th and Albufeira 19th in the Bloom Consulting 'Top25 Portugal City Brand Ranking' for 2019 which ranks the best cities in which to invest, visit and live.
Faro is the best municipality in the Algarve to live and in which to do business, according to the ranking.
The ranking evaluates Portuguese Council areas according to their performance in Business, Tourism and Living.
The classification looks at Portugal’s 308 municipalities and is led again by Lisbon.
For the Algarve, Portimão has crept past Albufeira and now occupies 2nd place.
Tavira, which in 2008 was in 4th place, was overtaken by Loulé. Lagos maintained 7th place and Silves recovered the two positions it had lost.
At the bottom of the Algarve table is Castro Marim (14th), Alcoutim (15th) and São Brás de Alportel (16th) all the same as last time.
