The Portuguese weather service predicts some hot weekend weather, “for the time of year.”
According to the IPMA, thermometers will rise across the country between 11 and 13 May, with a forecast of a clear sky and a sharp rise in the maximum temperature values carrying on into the week ahead.
By the intensification of an anticyclone in the British Isles from Saturday 11, will an easterly across the Iberian Peninsula bringing a mass of dry, hot air.
In this way, the IPMA predicts Sunday maximum temperatures above or near 30°C in practically all of the countrythe whole territory. The Algarve will be in the high 20s to low 30s.
In the Tagus Valley and Alentejo, the maximum temperature will reach between 35°C and 37°C.
