Police from the Department of Criminal Investigation of Portimão detained a man in the Armação de Pêra area, as he was subject to an International Arrest Warrant.
The man, of Italian-Russian nationality, "was being sought by the Russian authorities, through Interpol, to serve a sentence for the crime of child sexual abuse."
The 52-year-old businessman, will be taken to Évora Court which will authorise his extradition.

I could have written that, yes, but extradition to serve a sentence is close to automatic unless the death penalty is involved. Portugal has no interest in re-judging a case that is over and a sentence handed down.
