New air traffic rules for Portugal starting From August 1 – what you need to know

93air rulesThe Portuguese government has announced new air traffic rules starting from August 1. According to an announcement published on the Portuguese Government website, air traffic continues to remain open with countries in the European Union and the Schengen Area as well as the United Kingdom.

In addition, the number of non-EU countries permitted to enter Portugal starting from August 1 has doubled.

As per the new rules, regular flights will be resumed with the following twelve countries outside the EU:

-Australia

-Canada

-China

-South Korea

-Georgia

-Japan

-Morocco

-New Zealand

-Rwanda

-Thailand

-Tunisia

-Uruguay

All other countries can only enter Portugal for essential purposes, such as working, studying, family reunion or health and humanitarian reasons. Previously, the possibility of essential travel was only extended to nationals from Portuguese-speaking countries and the USA.

Passport holders of the countries listed above, entering Portugal, will be required to have a negative COVID-19 test, which has been taken within the last 72 hours. The only exception to this requirement is travellers in transit, who will not depart the airport premises.

Nationals and foreigners with legal residence in Portugal and also diplomatic personnel accredited in Portugal who do not present a valid COVID-19 test upon arrival will have to take one at the airport at their own expense. If they refuse to take a test, they will be charged with “crimes of disobedience and the spread of a contagious disease”.

In July, it was announced by officials that travellers who disembark in Portugal without a valid COVID-19 test will face fines between €500 and €2,000 whereas airlines transporting passengers without a test risk a fine of up to €3,000.

These rules will be valid until August 15, after which they will be re-evaluated. The Portugal government changes the entry restrictions on a bi-weekly base, resuming air traffic with countries who have “a positive epidemiological picture”. The list is based on the recommendations of the Council of the European Union.

Moreover, the EU Council recently updated the list of “epidemiologically safe” non-EU countries, removing Algeria, Montenegro, and Serbia.

'How conveniently that you leave out the very thing that a lot of people complain about, you know what has been causing excess deaths not related to Covid and the crash of the world economy. So tell me Norman when before were you forced to wear a mask in public and told that you were not allowed to be within 2 metres of your own family and friends?'

Not quite sure what you are referring to here between those two sentences. It seems to be masks, which I specifically mentioned. If it's not, please enlighten my admittedly limited brain. The answer on 'when were you forced etc' is 'never', quite obviously. Unprecedented public health emergency, unprecedented measures that the public and not just medical staff are required to observe. No human experimentation, though.

You seem to find these 'many censored' experts quite easily, and cherry pick the bits you like.

I guess it is beyond your comprehension. Many epidemiologist looking at the data gathered on the increase of new infections per day and more importantly of the number of deaths, not only can predict the course of a pandemic but can also declared it over.

What, hand washing, masks and social distancing? Never tried? Unbelievable! And you are not being experimented on, by any stretch of the definition.

No one is censoring you, as far as I know. You seem free to post whatever 'alternative information' you can dredge up.

I wasn't talking about myself, I was talking about the many doctors and experts who's different opinion has been suppressed by mainstream media and outright censored by the likes of Youtube, Facebook and Twitter. I can see you like you like to cherry pick what I say to suit your own conspiracy theory. Cherry picking season is over.

I diligently check the references that you and your mate quote at us before I respond, but so far it's all nonsense, whoever and however well qualified they may be. How anyone can keep a straight face and state that the pandemic is over is beyond my sheeple-limited comprehension.

"The measures we are being forced to follow have never been tried and tested before, so it is an experiment".

'Look at those men marching, everyone's out of step except our Steve.' This quote-finding game's a lot of fun.

Chip, once again we are blessed by one of your insightful comments contributing so much to this discussion. Keep them coming!

Desperate rubbish, again and again. Nobody is experimenting on you or anybody else. Simple public health preventive and protective measures, masks, which surgeons and all manner of medical personnel wear without any problem for hours on end ...

If you care to read alternative views provided by qualified experts, you will come to the same conclusions that this "pandemic" was over by end of March beginning of April. The measures we are being forced to follow have never been tried and tested before, so it is an experiment and no expert can guarantee that this is the correct way to go prevent the spread of a disease.
Unfortunately we are not only being denied alternative information about this disease and the ineffectiveness of the testing for this disease but also alternative treatments that would make all these measures go "poof" in an instant.
Your accusations of conspiracy theory are very boring (lazy method of arguing a point) and show that you are not willing to get properly informed and just accept whatever government officials tell you.

Desperate rubbish, again and again. Nobody is experimenting on you or anybody else. Simple public health preventive and protective measures, masks, which surgeons and all manner of medical personnel wear without any problem for hours on end (and of course it's not pleasant: nobody enjoys it, but we put up with it - better than being on a ventilator, I imagine). Comparing that and anything else that is being done to try to get past Covid (I know, it doesn't exist/the peak was over in March/whatever other nonsense you find on the web) to crimes against humanity is basically indecent.

Yes, I read it. You may have missed the bit where it refers to human experimentation, which has nothing to do with the current situation, except in your imagination. BTW, in Japan and other Asian countries people have been used to wearing masks to avoid spreading disease for decades. It's really not too much to ask, is it?

This is a mass experiment. However the same principles are part of the UNESCO Universal Declaration on Bioethics and Human Rights
