Ryanair increases flights from the UK to Faro in September and October

105ryanair flightsIrish airline Ryanair is set to reinforce its weekly connections between the United Kingdom and Portugal, from September 11th to October 24th, with 14 more flights to Faro every week, the low-cost airline announced today.

The news comes after the inclusion of Portugal in the UK’s list of safe destinations to travel to. Ryanair therefore decided to strengthen air links between the two countries, "introducing 14 additional flights to Faro from 12 UK airports", the company said in a statement this Wednesday.

The airline adds that it has launched a promotion with fares starting at just €19.99 per way, across the UK-Portugal network, for travel in September and October 2020. "This way, it will be even easier for our customers in the UK to book their long-awaited summer getaway in Portugal", says, in the company's Marketing & Digital director, Dara Brady.

Portugal was made part of the list of countries with “travel corridors” with the UK at 4:00 am on the 22nd August, with passengers now being exempted from fulfilling a two-week quarantine upon returning home. The air bridge was announced on August 20 by British authorities, who justified it with the necessary criteria for controlling the pandemic being fulfilled by Portugal.

Portugal thus joined a small group of countries that have been added to the list of "travel corridors" with the United Kingdom, that was first drawn up in mid-July, and which includes Estonia, Latvia, Slovakia, Slovenia, the archipelago of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Brunei and Malaysia.

The quarantine exemption is accompanied by a change in the advice of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs against non-essential travel to the included destinations, which is important for travel insurance purposes. Portugal, like Sweden and the United States, had always been outside the British list of safe destinations previously, a decision that the Portuguese Government questioned as it considered it not to be "based on correct facts and figures".

The United Kingdom is the main outbound market for tourists to Portugal, having accounted for around 20 percent of the total in 2019.

I worry about my friends of course, but I understand that there is nothing I can do about their fate.
I don't particularly like Boris Johnson's views, but he is delivering on his election promise to the people who voted for him and that is to get Britain out of the European Union with or without a trade deal.
Ask yourself, who will the UK trade with ... USA, the USA is already in negotiations with Poland to be their puppet in Europe, now that Britain is of no use to them from 1st January.
Anyway, it is not my battle, I live in an EU country and I'm very thankful for it.

Quoting Brook:
Unfortunately I am fully aware of what is ahead of a no deal brixit. There will be tariffs on all food imported into the UK from all EU countries, this means between 20% to 40% on anything from wine/port to cheese or car parts.
This won't affect me as I live here all year round, but it will affect some of my friends and I worry about them.

Brook, I wouldn't worry about it too much. I agree prices are likely to go up but why can't we buy English brie and do we really have to buy French bottled water?
Before the UK joined the EEC there was a reciprocal health agreement in place and I was able to travel throughout Europe on an ID card. I am sure your friends and family will still be able to visit you. Europe needs British tourists.

Another loser Remainer making wild predictions about a subject they clearly don't understand.

The next thing to consider is, how easy or difficult is it going to be for UK tourists to travel to Portugal or anywhere in Europe after 31st December?
The Johnson/Cummings government have done nothing yet, in the way of striking a deal with the EU !
What are they doing in number 10 ... coffee and cakes all-round, while Britain edges ever closer to the edge... is this what what the majority of people want ? For the shopping bill to increase by 40%, and people won't be able to afford holidays anyway!
