David Hasselhoff launches ‘Acceleration 2014’ an event that is planned to take place at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve from 25th to 27th of April.
The event is a mix of racing and music. The 61-year old American actor who had leading roles in Knight Rider (1982-1986) and Baywatch (1989-2001) is the face of Acceleration 2014 which will attempt to attract punters to the Algarve’s premier white elephant, tucked away in the hills to the north of Portimao.
Acceleration 2014 is to include car and motorcycle races at a European level, the Nations Cup, tractor pulling, DJs, kids activities and the promoters promise 'an affordable event for family, friends and car and motorcycle fans.'
The main attraction will be the FA1 with 18 old A1GP cars from the A1 Grand Prix series which failed in 2009 under the management of Tony Teixeira. These FA1 races will follow the A1GP formula as drivers will represent their countries rather than teams.
There is music on two consecutive nights with the Friday night dedicated to the music of the '80s and '90s with David Hasselhoff who will appear with his Knight Rider car, Kitt.
David Hasselhoff commented, "for my part I can only guarantee that it will be a unique show with many surprises and fun!"
