All municipalities of the Algarve now have active Covid-19 cases

ALL MUNICIPALITIES OF THE ALGARVE NOW HAVE ACTIVE COVID-19 CASESFor the first time since the pandemic hit the Algarve, all 16 municipalities of the Algarve now have active Covid-19 cases.
As cases increase, September (18,153) had more cases than April (16,736), but less patients hospitalised and in the ICU. Now, October has already recorded four of the worst ten days in number of new cases of the pandemic.

As of today, the Algarve region has 1862 confirmed cases, sadly resulting in 20 deaths.

The four Algarve counties with the most active cases are :

ALBUFEIRA with 113 (17% of the total cases)

LOULÉ with 105 (16% of the total cases)

VILA REAL DE SANTO ANTÓNIO with 88 (13% of the total cases)

TAVIRA with 59 (9% of the total cases)

Those Algarve counties currently with less affected, with under ten active confirmed cases are São Brás de Alportel with 9, Vila do Bispo with 6, Alcoutim with 3, and Aljezur and Monchique both with just 1 active case each.

“Que supresa!” In August they came from north and central Portugal, northern Europe and went home leaving their virus behind. Still they come from the UK, France, Holland, Germany et al., all rife with the disease. With no border restrictions, no checks at the airport (regardless of what the gov. says) and of course no quarantine. So why the surprise it’s spreading? Has anyone any idea why, when arriving from Covid hotspot, quarantine isn’t required when entering Portugal? Could it be they are putting the tourist Euro before our health. “Certament nao.”

Spot on. I feel sorry for the breadwinners, who have lost their income, but even sorrier for those who will lose someone to the blight. The government needs to support those in poverty
Start by cutting MP's salaries!

By 'cure' I mean lockdowns preventing familial contacts, causing loneliness and depression, diversion of medical facilities from more serious conditions to deal with this, and generally being treated as a 'nanny state'. Vaccine is a different problem where it has been shown that with mutating viruses the vaccine is only 20% effective by the time it has been trialled and marketed.

Roy like you I hate the lockdown.

Unfortunately, due to people's irresponsible behaviour and their desire "I want my freedom, I don't want to be traced" but are quite happy to download apps and give Tiktok, Facebook, etc access to their contacts, location and photos we are in this mess again.

Is herd immunity the answer? Would the health system cope? We now hear of long-term Covid cases. How many Covid mutations since the beginning of the year. We need answers first.

Today the DGS announced a further 37 (11 ICU) have been hospitalised making it a total of 801. Yesterday it was 32 and the day before 31.

The most significant fact in the above report is that 20 people have died in the Algarve.

20 too many no matter what the flat earthers think.

In 2018 38 Poeple did in car accidents in the Algarve.

Perhaps we should think about banning cars?

No need for that!! Just teach people not to speed, drink drive, sit in the boot of the car in front and don't overtake on a bend.

Wouldn't that be a good mission for you to take on David???

I think that what concerns many people is that the 'cure' appears to be more harmful than the disease.

Roy I am not surprised people are concerned when so many are condemning the vaccine before it has been properly tested.

There are hundreds of different trials currently being done in different countries. We don't know yet which one of these will be successful. I just wish the scaremongering would stop,

Is it more likely there is no disease pandemic, just a pandemic of testing for random DNA fragments accompanied by a monumental global psychological terror campaign?

NO!
