Synlab, in partnership with Hospital de Loulé, have today opened a Covid-19 Mobile Screening Center in Faro, which operates on weekdays from 10:00 to 17:00 and on Saturdays from 09:00 to 13:00.
The new "drive in" style unit, located at Avenida Cidade de Hayward, "allows staff to perform PCR diagnostic tests for Covid-19 in an quick, comfortable and safe way, without the need to get out of the car", explains the laboratory.
The centre is aimed at "users with a prescription from the National Health Service (SNS24 Line, Health Centers) and customers at the Hospital de Loulé".
Prior appointment is esssential and can be made through the number 289 249 745 or email covid.faro@synlab.pt , on weekdays from 10:00 to 17:00.
According to Synlab, "Covid-19 PCR tests are performed with swabs, and do not require fasting or special preparation. The results are sent to the user and public health authorities within 24 to 48 hours".
