Ryanair predicts "a strong return" for EU holidays in Summer 2021

RYANAIR PREDICTS A "A STRONG RETURN" FOR EU HOLIDAYS IN SUMMER 2021Ryanair boss, Michael O'Leary, spoke on BBC TV today, telling how he was "heartened" by the fact the UK expected to vaccinate everyone over 50 by the end of March, and that Europe would achieve the same by June. As a result, he forecasts Summer 2021 flights to be down just 5% on the pre-coronavirus summer of 2019.

Ryanair expects to operate 1,615 routes this summer, with seats and flights up by 188% over summer 2020.

Of course, the situation is continually changing, with the potential for further lockdowns, border closures, and quarantines, alongside the rollout of vaccinations, but Ryanair say the outlook for Summer 2021 is currently a positive one.

Ryanair will serve 214 airports this coming summer, down from just 225 in summer 2019. Its top 10 airports, in order of capacity, will be: Stansted, Dublin, Milan Bergamo, Palma, Barcelona, Vienna, Madrid, Brussels Charleroi, Malaga and Alicante.

Ryanair’s core routes remain broadly the same, however Faro can expect to have fewer than 5,000 seats from just a once-weekly Ryanair service from June to August.
