Yesterday afternoon, the Ferragudo Lifeguard station rescued two crew members aboard a pleasure boat, which was adrift in the navigation channel of the port of Portimão, next to the commercial pier, due to a breakdown in the propulsion.
The alert was made at 17:20, by the commander of the pleasure craft, informing that his boat had been without propulsion and was adrift, running the risk of running aground.
The Local Command of the Maritime Police of Portimão and a lifeguard vessel from Ferragudo lifeguard station were immediatey sent to the location.
The lifeguards proceeded to transfer the crew onboard, then tow the damaged vessel to the pier at the marina in Portimão. Nobody was injured during the incident.
