Expats are being invited to share their perceptions of living and working outside the UK.
HSBC Expat is embarking on its seventh annual Expat Explorer Survey which covers topics such as finances, quality of life, and raising children.
The results will be fed into Expat Explorer Interactive, a website which tries to present a picture of what expat life is like and which can be used to compare destinations.
Last year, more than 7,000 expats provided information to the survey which was the largest number to date.
Parents are being sought in particular this year so the survey can better reflect what impact moving abroad there is on family life.
The survey takes around 15 minutes to complete via this web link, and the responses are confidential and private. It is administered by YouGov, an independent market research agency, on behalf of HSBC Expat, which is the offshore part of HSBC bank.
The 2013 survey pinpointed Thailand as the easiest place in the world for expats to make friends and have an active social life.
Switzerland and China were the best for earning potential and disposable income, while Germany and Singapore came top for those raising children.
The Expat Explorer Survey will be open until May 9.
