EasyPark Expands its Reach to Portugal

EASYPARK EXPANDS ITS REACH TO PORTUGALEasyPark, a company that prides itself on cutting-edge parking technology that simplifies urban life “one parking spot at a time” has finally arrived in Portugal. The app, which up to now has been available in European countries such as the Netherlands, Germany and France, has been designed to help drivers find parking spots and charge electric cars. It is now operational in 27 countries across the globe.

“The EasyPark app makes it easy to pay for parking with minimal effort for the driver. Our vision is to make cities more liveable and the basis for this is to ensure that the parking experience is as easy and seamless as possible”, said Jennifer Amador Tavares de Sousa, Director of the EasyPark Group for Portugal.

The app, which also facilitates road journeys between some European countries, will initially be available in Portugal’s capital Lisbon. “It is the hope that just like in the Netherlands and some other countries, EasyPark will improve the city’s parking ecosystem. In the Netherlands, the app has minimized the time drivers have to look for parking spaces, which has translated to less congestion and carbon dioxide emissions,” said Hendrik Jakker, writer for SweetestHome.
“Being able to easily find and pay for parking also reduces commute times, which means more time at home with your loved ones.”

EasyPark also offers software options for parking providers, property owners and municipalities. This includes the provision of data that can be used to help city officials make planning decisions.

“We are happy to take the step of entering Portugal and to start offering our services to both drivers and parking providers. EasyPark will make a significant difference in making Portugal's cities more liveable, starting with Lisbon”, said Jennifer.

Available for both iOS and Android, EasyPark has been helping drivers for more than 20 years. Today, it serves millions of drivers each month with various alternatives for starting, extending or ending their parking sessions.

The in-car payment function lets drivers find and pay for parking via their smartphones or car’s navigation system. Right now, EasyPark has a partnership with brands such as Mercedes, Volvo, Car2Go, Polestar and DriveNow. The company also collaborates with telecommunication groups including Telenor and Telia to provide on-board payment devices. There is also a web service where users can track their parking history and past transactions.
