After completing their training course on 26th November, 86 new SEF inspectors (Investigation and Inspection Career of the Aliens and Borders Service) will begin their duties today, 16 of them at Faro Airport.
The 51 men and 35 women completed their one year course, "acquiring skills for functions within the scope of the investigation and inspection career" said SEF.
In addition to learning English and French, they have, for the first time, been trained in Arabic, thanks to the Instituto de Línguas of Universidade Nova de Lisboa.
These new SEF inspectors are part of the multi-year admissions plan for the security forces and services approved in this year's State Budget, which provides for the admission of 2,500 new elements to the PSP, GNR and SEF.
