Having seized a total of 28 bales on Friday, the Maritime Police have seized another 9 bales of drugs in Albufeira and Lagoa, totalling 315 kilos of hashish from several Algarve beaches over the weekend.
The nine packs of drugs were seized as part of the reinforcement of patrols along the coastline carried out over the weekend. In a statement the Maritime Police said "they will be handed over to the Judiciary Police, together with the respective file, all of which will be passed to the Central Department of Investigation and Criminal Action of Portimão".
The Maritime Police intend to "maintain and reinforce patrol actions along the coastline, with special focus on the municipalities of Albufeira, Lagoa and Silves, in order to detect any new discharges of narcotics bales".
