During the early hours of this morning, the Ferragudo Lifeguard Station team rescued a crew member of a fishing vessel that accidentally fell while onboard, hitting his head, while navigating about four miles (approximately seven kilometres) to south of Portimão.
The alert was made at 2:10 am, by a member of the fishing boat crew, and a vessel from the Ferragudo Lifesaving Station was immediately activated.
Upon arrival at the fishing vessel, the lifeguards rescued and transported the man, who was in a conscious state, to the Ferragudo pier, where the INEM ambulance team were waiting. They assisted the victim on the spot and transported him to hospital.
