Portugal has just named the German Christian Brückner as a suspect in the case of Madeleine McCann, an investigation developed in parallel to the mini-series “Madeleine McCann: Hunting the Main Suspect”, which AMC Crime, MEO channel 114, will premiere on Tuesday, May 3rd at 11:30 pm.

“Madeleine McCann: Hunting for the Main Suspect”, has the testimony of several Portuguese people, including lawyers, journalists and family members of the victims, and promises to reveal disarming evidence about the disappearance of Madeleine 15 years ago in Praia da Luz, Algarve.

Over three 60-minute episodes, the revelations of the mini-series apparently bring viewers closer to the truth than ever before. In a world-exclusive of investigative work, former detective Mark Williams-Thomas delves into the life story of German paedophile Christian Brückner, the prime suspect in the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.

Maddie disappeared in the early evening of May 3rd 2007, from her bed in a holiday apartment located in a resort in Praia da Luz, Algarve (Portugal) and her whereabouts remains unknown. However, strong evidence points to Brückner. Was he responsible for Madeleine's abduction?

German authorities say there is evidence that Maddie died and that Brückner is guilty of the murder, however, they still admit that there is not enough evidence to charge him.

In an attempt to clarify Brückner connections to the crime, Mark investigates in both Portugal and Germany all credible leads related to the suspect, interviewing the people involved on both sides of the law and "diving" into Brückners life and past crimes.

Former Portuguese lawyer, Serafim Vieira, who worked for the main suspect in the Madeleine McCann case, journalists João Godinho and Sandra Felgueiras, Patrícia de Sousa Cipriano, from the Portuguese Association of Missing Children and family members of victims of Christian Brückner, are some of the testimonies that make up this revealing miniseries.

In an unprecedented involvement, former detective Mark Williams-Thomas uncovers new and exclusive information: revelations from Brückners mobile phone that link him to the moment of Madeleine's disappearance and the clues that link him to a recognised German paedophile ring. In the series, Brückners communicates directly with Mark, telling him what he was doing when Madeleine disappeared and presenting an alibi.

Episode 3 – Testing the Alibi (May 17 at 23:30)

Brückner gives Mark a possible alibi when he reveals that he had a summer affair with an 18-year-old German girl the week of Madeleine's disappearance.
