New concept houses that save up to 90% in energy have arrived in Portugal

NEW CONCEPT HOUSES THAT SAVE UP TO 90% IN ENERGY HAVE ARRIVED IN PORTUGALNew concept houses of the future that allow you to save up to 90% in energy have arrived in Portugal, built sustainably, with energy efficiency, keeping the indoor temperature uniform throughout the year.

Portugal is one of the countries in Europe where it is colder indoors. This new housing concept, born in the 90's in Germany, allows the interior house temperature to remain constant throughout the year by being built sustainably, with energy efficiency to ensure the temperature inside remains uniform throughout the year.

In Portugal there are only four certified houses so far, but several dozen have already been built according to this concept.

These dwellings are designed to be more sustainable on the inside and more energy efficient. Those responsible for the construction of these houses pay attention to every detail. From the window frames to the insulation of the infrastructure, nothing is forgotten, so that energy is not wasted.

In summer the temperatures in the interior do not exceed 25ºC and in winter they are not lower than 20ºC. Miguel Marcelino, from PassivHaus Portugal, guarantees that these homes have a consumption reduction of around 65% compared to a new building. In relation to an existing building, this reduction can reach 90%.

Studies show that Portugal is one of the European countries with the greatest energy poverty, but now these houses can help to counteract this national crisis.

At a time when the rise in energy prices increasingly forces us to reflect on the most economical way to heat and cool homes, these could even become the homes of the very near future.
