RYANAIR HELPS REDUCE CARBON FOOTPRINT BY PLANTING ANOTHER 75,000 TREES IN SERRA DE MONCHIQUERyanair is once again partnering with "Renature Monchique", in a project that aims to offset the company's carbon footprint.

The "Renature Monchique" project has been on the ground since 2019 and is now entering its fourth year of action, to plant another 75,000 trees in the Algarve mountains.

The relaunch of the project aims to offset the carbon footprint of the airline Ryanair, revitalizing the ecology of Monchique. In addition, the project aims to achieve  the ecological restoration of the main habitat types of the Natura 2000 Network affected by the 2018 fires.

Ryanair, the Group for Spatial Planning and Environment Studies (GEOTA), the Algarve Tourism Region ( RTA), the Institute for the Conservation of Nature and Forests (ICNF) and the Municipality of Monchique will work in partnership on the project.

A meeting to kick off proceedings will take place on Thursday (10th), at 11:00 am, in the auditorium of the Algarve Tourism Region, in Faro.
