Yesterday, ALDI Portugal opened two more new stores, one of which is in Ferreiras, Albufeira, the other in Porto.
The store will have a partnership with the Banco Alimentar do Algarve, which will help around 27,800 people with food shortages throughout the region, through the more than 120 Institutions of Social Solidarity with which they work.
After ending 2022 with 17 new stores in Portugal and highlighting, in a statement, a “very positive” balance of its growth in the country, ALDI states that this investment “is part of its expansion strategy”.
This is a “strong growth and consolidation” in terms of stores nationwide, and the banner promises to increase its number in 2023, with the opening of new spaces, reads in the released note.
According to João Braz Teixeira, managing director of Expansion and Construction at ALDI Portugal, “with currently four stores in the municipality of Albufeira, the Ferreiras store was what was needed to close our area of influence and cover the entire population of the municipality. The new space will offer more shopping options for customers in the parishes of Ferreiras and Paderne, and for the floating population, due to its proximity to the EN125.”
The new store has a total sales area of 1,244 m2 and includes a car park with electric charging stations, parking for motorhomes, and spaces for reduced mobility, among others.
Within the scope of this project, a roundabout was built that allowing better accessibility to the store, helping to manage the flow of local traffic.
The new Ferreiras store is at Avenida 12 de Julho, Albufeira, 8200-559 Ferreiras and open from 8h to 21h every day.
