POLICE LAUNCH "SPRING BREAK 2023" OPERATION FROM TOMORROWFrom tomorrow, Tuesday, the GNR will carry out an operation aimed at the school community, including inspections at land borders, to raise awareness to risky behaviour, and consumption of drugs and alcohol in the Spring Break.

In a statement, the GNR said that the "Spring Break 2023" operation, which takes place in two phases, involves awareness-raising actions among the school community and inspection at the borders of Vilar Formoso, Caia, and Vila Real de Santo António.

The purpose of the operation is, according to the guard, the prevention of risky behavior by the young population, who often travel at this time of year to the south of Spain and Catalonia, on a finalist trip.

In the first phase, which takes place between Tuesday and Thursday this week, the GNR will carry out awareness-raising actions among young people in the target group of students from the 9th to the 12th grade.

Between the 3rd and 14th of April, when the Easter school holidays at the end of the 2nd term take place and many final year students take the opportunity to take trips to celebrate their final school year, the GNR will carry out the second phase of the operation, this time including awareness to the bathing areas of southern Spain.
