Lagoa: French kayaker rescued after breaking her arm

LAGOA: FRENCH KAYAKER RESCUED AFTER BREAKING HER ARMThe crew of the Ferragudo Lifeguard Station rescued a 37 year old French woman on Saturday afternoon, after she who suffered an accident while kayaking between Praia da Marinha and Praia do Barranquinho.

The 37 year old victim fracture  the bone in her upper right arm, while she was kayaking between the beaches of Praia da Marinha and Praia do Barranquinho, in Lagoa.

Ferragudo Lifeguard Station received the alert at 13:47 on Saturday, an "upon arrival at the site, it was found that the kayaker had suffered an accident, which resulted in a fracture in the upper right limb", explained the National Maritime Authority in a statement.

The victim was rescued by the crew of the Lifeguard Station and taken to Benagil beach, where she was assisted by the Lagoa Volunteer Firefighters and later transported to hospital for treatment.
