A 34 year old man stabbed his wife and stayed with her corpse all night before handing himself over to the GNR the next morning.
In the official statement, the police said that the 34 year old man attacked his 29 year old wife with a bladed weapon on Tuesday, causing her injuries “the severity of which led to her death, which occurred inside the house”.
After having remained with his dead wife all night, the aggressor went to the police station the next day to report the situation, after which he was arrested on suspicion of aggravated homicide.
"The investigation carried out allowed the collection of relevant evidence, and the circumstances in which the crime occurred, as well as the formalisation of the arrest of the presumed author", reads the statement.
The man will remain in detention, while the ongoing investigation is carried out by the Department of Investigation and Penal Action (DIAP) of Loulé.
