The GNR have become aware of a new scam (in Portuguese, burla) text message circulating, claiming to have been sent from "Republican National Guard".
The message sent to mobile phones informs the receiver that their vehicle is up for seizure from the day they receive the message, for delay in paying a fine. To avoid your vehicle being seized, the message asks for payment using the entity, reference and amount for payment provided.
The GNR are warnig that this is a SCAM. If receive a text like this, DO NOT MAKE PAYMENT! This message is NOT from the GNR. Please report it to the police.
