As the project to complete a cycle path between the town of Sagres and Cabo de São Vicente comes in to its final phase, workers were surprised to discover the theft of the pathside dividers.
Its a mystery as to what anyone would need the dividers for, which separate the cyclepath from the road, and one which leaves the Municipal Council of Vila do Bispo in total disbelief. The council will of course take steps to replace the separators, as well as "lodge a complaint with the competent authorities”.
The municipality say the new cycle path is “a structural project that will provide 31,531 kilometres of cycling and pedestrian routes”, adding that it is “a sustainable and environmentally friendly project, increasing the mobility and attractiveness of the area”.
