Over the last two days, the Maritime Police of Faro and Portimão seized a total of 238 kilos of hashish and 20 jerrycans of fuel, along the Algarve coast.
Following coordinated surveillance and patrol actions along the coastline, by land and sea, the Portimão Maritime Police “found 145.5 kilos of hashish and 20 jerrycans of fuel on the sand of the beaches in their area of jurisdiction”.
After an alert given by locals, “reporting the existence of a bundle on the sand of Vale do Lobo beach”, the Faro Maritime Police seized another 92.64 kilos of hashish.
All the narcotic product seized was then handed over to the Judicial Police.
Recently, bales of hashish and jerry cans washing up along the Algarve coast seems to be an almost daily occurence.
