Lagos: Navy rescues man in distress in the bay

Lagos: Navy rescues man in distress in the bayYesterday, a man was rescued from a mile out to sea by the Portuguese Navy ship NRP Figueira da Foz after he found himself in trouble, in the bay of Lagos.

The wing foiler, a sport in which a surf board and an inflatable wing are used, managed to signal to the passing Navy ship that he needed help at around 12:40pm yesterday lunchtime.

The man was gradually moving away from land due to the wind, and was already about a mile from the coast when he was taken on board and promptly assisted by the ship's health team.
