The GNR have confirmed that a 79 year old lady who had been missing since Sunday night in Monchique, was found on Monday “with minor injuries”.
The elderly Italian woman was found by GNR soldiers of a binomial dog team (man-dog) at 11:45 on Monday morning, having “fallen in a rural area, covered by brambles, in a state of shock and with minor bruises”.
“The lady was found in good health, although she was weak and had bruises, and required assistance at the scene. She was later transported to Portimão hospital for medical evaluation,” siad the GNR statement.
The alert for the disappearance of the woman, from Portela Baixa in Monchique, was given at around 6:25 pm on Sunday, with searches beginning “immediately after” involving the GNR and the municipal civil protection service of Monchique, using drones to try and locate the missing woman.
