The Cerro do Castelo do Alferce viewpoint, opened in April last year, has been the target of "cowardly destruction".
Vandals have attacked the Cerro do Castelo do Alferce viewpoint in the Monchique mountains, infuriating the Monchique Council.
Located next to an archaeological site, the vewpoint offers beautiful views across the Monchique mountains and the Odelouca barragem, the Algarve's largest dam.
Monchique Council say “the gratuitous and cowardly destruction of public equipment is an offense and insult to collective identity and cannot be tolerated, so the appropriate measures will be taken.”
