The public of Lagos have been complaining, particularly through social media, about the yellow water coming out of their taps.
Lagos city council, however, assures that there is no health risk.
“Due to a change in the water treatment carried out by Águas do Algarve, a change in the colour of the tap water has occurred, giving it a slightly yellowish hue,” says the council. This is “a one-off occurrence that does not pose a risk to public health.”
The municipality assures that “immediate measures are being taken to correct the situation, and this is being monitored by the competent authority and entity”.
