Between July 30th and August 4th, the GNR in Albufeira have made 18 arrests and seized 3000 doses of various drugs.
According to the GNR, "the actions undertaken were aimed at preventing and suppressing illegal behaviour." Special attention was paid to the city's main nightlife venues.
Seventeen men, aged between 18 and 56, and one woman, aged 36, were arrested.
Ten of the arrests were for drug trafficking, two for aggravated assault, two for serving court orders, one for sexual harassment, one for possession of a prohibited weapon, one for resistance and coercion of employees, and the remainder for driving a vehicle while intoxicated.
The following drugs and associated items were seized: 1,127 doses of cocaine; 1,076 doses of hashish; 668 doses of marijuana; 259 doses of amphetamines; 160 doses of MDMA; 143 grams of ketamine; a dagger; an extendable baton; a knuckleduster; three mobile phones; two precision scales; and €7,025 and 220 GBP in cash.
The detainees were charged, and the facts were referred to the Albufeira Judicial Court.
