Ten people have been arrested and 1.3 tonnes of cocaine seized in “Operation Valhalla”, which took place this week in Portimão, the Judiciary Police (PJ) announced on Thursday, 5th February.
In a statement released to the press, the PJ said the operation “culminated in the arrest, in Portugal, of 10 suspects” on suspicion of maritime drug trafficking.
As part of the operation, carried out with the support of the police’s Faro Directorate and the Portimão Criminal Investigation Department, officers seized 1,300 kilograms of cocaine on Portuguese territory, along with two vessels and three vehicles.
In parallel, and within the scope of the same investigation, a woman was also arrested in Copenhagen, while 21 house searches were carried out in Denmark.
The operation was conducted by Portuguese authorities in cooperation with the Danish police, Spain’s National Police, and the MAOC (N) — the Maritime Analysis and Operations Centre (Narcotics).
