The Algarve International Circuit (AIA) in Portimão will host the second round of the 2026 World Superbike Championship between 27th and 29th March, with a weekend programme that mixes high-level competition with fan experiences around the venue.
Local racing icon Miguel Oliveira will be one of the main attractions at the event, which itself will combine on-track racing with a range of activities open to the public.
Ticket sales have been rising steadily, helped in part by Miguel Oliveira’s debut in the category as part of the official BMW team. Over the three days, the paddock will once again serve as the focal point of activities for fans attending the event.
Among the side attractions, the circuit’s popular tourist train will allow visitors to tour the track on 28th and 29th March. Meanwhile, the much-anticipated Hot Laps will give participants the chance to complete a lap of the circuit alongside an instructor from the Racing School, riding pillion on a Yamaha R1.
On 29th March, bringing the weekend to a close, the Parade Lap will allow fans to take to the track on their own motorcycles and ride a lap of the circuit.
Around 100 riders will compete across four categories during the event, with a total of nine races scheduled across Saturday and Sunday.
The Algarve round will also mark the debut of the Sportbike class and the Women’s World Championship, with Portuguese rider Tomás Alonso competing in the former, representing the team run by Miguel Oliveira
