Around 20,000 tickets for an upcoming concert by Kanye West, scheduled for 7th August at the Estádio Algarve, were sold in just two hours, ticketing platform BOL announced on Tuesday, 24th March.
According to the company, this initial sales phase was exclusively available to users registered on a waiting list. Ticket prices ranged from €119 to €500.
“The strong uptake confirms the high level of anticipation surrounding the artist’s return to Portugal, 15 years after his last performance in the country,” BOL said in a statement.
Exclusive sales for those on the waiting list will remain open until 25th March at 23:59, although the number of tickets still available is already limited. General sales are set to begin on 26th March at 09:00, with another surge in demand expected.
Kanye West has made only a handful of live appearances in Portugal throughout his career. His earliest show dates back to 2006, when he performed at the Cool Jazz Fest in Oeiras, then still on the rise following the success of Late Registration. The relatively intimate gig, attended by just a few thousand people, has since taken on near-mythical status among fans, capturing the rapper at a formative moment before his ascent to global superstardom.
He returned to Portugal in 2011 as part of a major European festival circuit, performing at MEO Sudoeste on the southwest coast. By that stage, West had become a headline act.
Despite his global touring profile, appearances in Portugal have remained sporadic. His upcoming 2026 concert at the Estádio Algarve marks a significant return, with roughly 15 years since his last performance in the country.
