74-year-old singer Bonnie Tyler emerges from coma, but remains in intensive care at Faro Hospital

74-year-old singer Bonnie Tyler emerges from coma, but remains in intensive care at Faro HospitalSinger Bonnie Tyler has come out of a coma and is now conscious, though she remains in intensive care at Faro Hospital in Portugal, where she faces what doctors describe as a slow road to recovery.

In a statement released by the 74-year-old artist’s family and management team, it was confirmed that her condition has shown signs of improvement, but remains serious and requires constant medical supervision. Doctors are said to be cautiously optimistic that the Welsh singer could eventually make a full recovery, although they have stressed that progress is unlikely to be swift.

As a result of her ongoing treatment, all performances scheduled up to the end of August have been cancelled or postponed. Organisers say concerts planned for the autumn may still go ahead, depending on how Tyler’s health develops in the coming weeks.

The family also expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support from fans around the world, saying that Tyler is aware of the messages and deeply appreciative of the affection shown to her. They reiterated their request for privacy during this difficult period.

Further updates, the statement added, will only be issued if there are significant changes in the singer’s medical condition.

Bonnie’s team concluded their statement with a request to the public: “Bonnie’s family continue to ask for privacy and promise that we will issue further updates as soon as there are significant developments to share.”
