Vilamoura Marina has won the international Superyacht Marina of the Year 2026 award, presented by The Yacht Harbour Association (TYHA).
The accolade, decided by customer vote, was presented last week during the Southampton International Boat Show in the UK.
The award places the Algarve marina among the world’s leading facilities in the superyacht sector, strengthening Vilamoura’s position as an international destination for yachting and high-end tourism.
Isolete Correia, CEO of Vilamoura Marina, has said that the award is “a source of pride for the entire team” and represents “recognition of the commitment we make every day to excellence and the quality of the experience we provide”.
“More than recognising a marina, this award acknowledges the work of a dedicated team and the experience we strive to provide in Vilamoura,” she said.
The international recognition also provides an incentive for the future, Correia adds. “It is recognition that inspires us to continue raising our standards and consolidating Vilamoura Marina’s position as an international benchmark,” she said.
The award was presented at the Southampton International Boat Show, one of the leading international events in the marine industry, bringing together representatives from across the sector as well as marinas recognised under the Gold Anchor scheme.
This is not the first international accolade won by Vilamoura Marina, which has collected awards since 2015.
In 2023, it achieved the highest classification under the Gold Anchor programme, receiving the 5 Gold Anchors Platinum distinction. According to information released by the marina, the status is held by just 11 marinas worldwide.
Vilamoura Marina has highlighted its role as the hub of an offering that combines yachting, restaurants, hotels, retail, and entertainment, targeting an international segment of high-spending visitors. The marina is positioned as a key part of Vilamoura’s tourism identity and its profile in international markets.
