On average, prices in the eurozone fell for vegetables, fruit and telecommunications, but rose for rents, restaurants and cafes.
Meanwhile, construction in the region dropped by 1.5% in May compared to April.
While the decline in Portugal was below the average, dropping 1.2% in May, there was a large drop of 10.2% for the year. This was the greatest annual decrease in construction out of all the eurozone countries.
