Left Bloc accuses Prime Minister of lying to the nation

passoscoelho2The Left Bloc said that the Prime Minister’s speech at the Algarve ‘Pontal’ rally held on Friday night contained a long list of lies.

"Pedro Passos Coelho interrupted his holidays to stir up a PSD supporters’ rally and when opening his 2015 election campaign began to lie to the Portuguese," said Left Bloc Political Commission member Pedro Soares.

According to Soares, Passos Coelho "spoke of an economy that does not exist, he told the audience he was engaged in combating favours when we all know that he has pumped billions of euros into a bank with serious problems caused by the greed of its directors, he lied about Social Security, tried to pit youth against pensioners, and children against parents, when we all know that the policy of this Government has been against all of us."

The Left Bloc spokesman said that, "Passos Coelho demonstrated that he has only one concern: to position himself in preparation for the 2015 election by creating the illusion that all is well with the Portuguese, this he can do only by lying.”

Soares added that the Prime Minister avoided talking about the recent Constitutional Court ruling on pay cuts in the public sector and that the PM has a “strange way of looking at equality."

The Left Bloc argues that it is "fundamental" that Social Security "guarantees a life for Portuguese workers" and that social reform "can not be an argument for removing living and working conditions from the Portuguese."

So Sr Pedro Soares, What would you do different? And why do you not tell us? Typical opposition politician. Good at criticism, but alternatives?

“strange way of looking at equality.....

this is the root of the problem; it colours every aspect of Portuguese life - but Portugal has never known equality.

It is something the 'stay at home' Portuguese have heard or read about or if travelled, experienced more of in developed countries.

But it is still an alien concept here ! The point being, even those politicians trumpeting more equality - would be well p***ed off if they did not get their generous salaries and perks. Like all the elite - they are in the game precisely because it helps them, their families and friends.

Also Equality .... starts at home ! How many households are breeding inequality just from how the parents interact ?

So how many Portuguese use the Ministerio Publico or Procuradora Justica websites to get 'equality' with some bad guy ??

And how many more, the 'traditionalists', just wait for the hot, dry fire season ... to get even ?
