Ryanair: cheap deals and new routes

Ryanair cheap dealsThe airline announced nine new routes, including Lisbon, which will operate this winter out of Stansted airport.

Now there will be flights to Comiso in Sicily, Fez and Rabat in Morocco, Ostrava in the Czech Republic, Germany’s Nuremberg and Dortmond France’s Bordeaux and Strasbourg.

The majority of these destinations will be available during some part of November.  Services to Bordeaux and Rabat, however, begin in February.

To celebrate, Ryanair is offering 100,000 trips on various routes in Europe from £14.99. The fares are valid for travel on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays for selected departures in December and January. They must be booked online before midnight on November 11, and do not include optional fees such as checked baggage.

Plans announced earlier this week include allocated seating which takes effect in February.  A £5 charge will be made per flight per person for anyone selecting their own seat.  If left to Ryanair to make the decision, there will be no charge.

Notice of this route cancellation will be good news indeed for Portugal's railway company which had started aggressively to market and promote its own Faro to Lisbon intercity route as a cost-effective and stress-free alternative to air travel.
