Known to many expats and Portuguese local to the Messines and Silves area, estate agent Carlos Melo died at the scene of a car crash on Friday October 11th.
Melo had worked successfully in the property business since 1987 and had run a successful estate agency in Messines for many years, more recently joining Remax, Albuferia where his local knowledge and cheery personality made an impression of colleagues and clients alike.
Melo was driving from Albufeira to the Messines area on the Paderne road where his car left the road on a corner. The resulting impact caused severe head injuries which killed him instantly. Carlos Melo was divorced and had three daughters, the youngest of whom is 8 years old and whose care was always his first priority.
Carlos's funeral was on Tuesday 15th October in Messines.
