EDP fined for denying customers their right to complain

edpAt last the cursory treatment of customers by electricity supplier EDP Universal has been recognised and the company fined €15,000.

The Regulatory Authority for Energy Services (ERSE) decided to fine the energy company for not having "immediately provided the complaints book to two customers."

The decision by ERSE was not challenged by EDP Universal and the company already has paid up.

By law, the maximum fine that can be imposed for this offence is €30,000.

In addition to the fine, EDP Universal was also ordered to pay for the publication of the decision in the press.
