EDP Renewables buys huge Alentejano solar power plant project

pvPortugal’s EDP Renewables has bought a company which owns the rights to build huge solar power plant in the Alentejo.

The building and operating license for solar power production with a capacity of 2.5 megawatts was owned by Stirling Power which had planned the plant for the Alcamises area near Évora.

 The deal will be assessed by the Competition Authority now it has been made public and the industry regulator.

EDP Renewables, a subsidiary of Energias de Portugal (EDP), has bought the entire share capital of Stirling Power for an undisclosed sum.

The photo voltaic plant has an operational start date on 2016.
