Portugal again has won at the World Golf Awards 2015 with the accolade of the Best Golf Destination 2015 in a ceremony held at the Conrad Algarve on Saturday.
The Best Portuguese Golf Course was not in the Algarve as The Royal Obidos won the category but the Pine Cliffs Resort won the award for the Best Hotel in Portuguese Golf 2015.
PAG Serviços Golf and Ingolfe received the award for Best Inbound Tour Operator and Best Outbound Tour Operator respectively.
Ernie Els Design was awarded with the title of World’s Golf Course Designer of the Year and in a special presentation from the World Golf Awards Academy, the golf legend Bernard Gallacher was presented with the World Golf Awards Lifetime Achievement Award trophy.
The World’s Best Golf Course is in the rainy north of Europe as the St Andrews Old Course Links held on to title, while Las Colinas Golf & Country Club was recognised as Spain’s Best Golf Course.
The Laurent-Perrier sponsored award presentation was at the end of a three day event with guests enjoying the Conrad Algarve. The partner for the awards evening was the website Portugal Golf Membership which offers benefits to golfers travelling to Portugal.
