António Costa and his 17 ministers have delivered their 2015 income statements to the Constitutional Court, with the exception of the Agriculture Minister, Capoulas Santos, whose submission is late.
In 2015, António Costa earned €63,457 from employment and €91,875 from self-employment, a total of €155,332.
The Health Minister Adalberto Fernandes, a medical Doctor, declared a salaried income of €167,000 and consultancy income of over €13,000.
Finance Minister Mario Centeno earned more than €144,000 last year.
The statement of the Minister of Finance is one of the most detailed and shows deposit account totals, banks investments, stocks and shares, mutual funds and insurance investments. Mário Centeno shows the properties he owns, both in Vila Real de Santo António and Lisbon.
The Minister of the Presidency and Administrative Modernisation, Manuela Leitão Marques, also attached to his income statement various bank documents related to investments and his stock portfolio.
In the debit column, most of the ministers have mortgages and car loans. The Education Minister Tiago Brandão Rodrigues, who lived 16 years outside of the country, is the exception as he owns his house outright and travels around on a Piaggio scooter.
The law states that, the holders of political office and senior public officials have to deliver to the Constitutional Court within 60 days of taking office, a statement of their income, assets and debts.
