A GNR patrol has arrested a gang of seven young men suspected of committing night-time robberies outside Albufeira’s bars and clubs.
The GNR said that the men, aged between 17 and 26, were arrested on Monday after yet another robbery which was linked to several others as it displayed the same tactics.
The gang, according to the GNR, attacked victims late at night near the entrances of nightlife venues, stole valuables and forced some victims to withdraw cash at nearby ATMs
An alert went out on Monday night after a late night robbery had taken place in central Albufeira. A GNR patrol managed to intercept five of the suspects.
The Department of Investigation and Penal Action (DIAP) in Albufeira then issued arrest warrants for the other two gang members who were picked up the next day, one of them stupid enough to be carrying a stolen mobile phone.
