These are the ingredients of a delicious 'Loulé Summer' offering that will take place in several areas of the county during the second half of August.
Many will have spotted fadista Mariza in the schedule whose visit to Loulé is the jewell in the crown for the council which is determined that residents and holidaymakers alike can experience some top quality acts.
In fact the international fado sensation, Mariza, is the only one of the acts for which tickets will be charged for, €20 for an evening with the top fadista of her generation, preceded by a few drinks in the specially constructed bar area at the outdoor venue at the Eng Duarte Pacheco monument.
On August 20th, at 22:00, the musical offering moves down to the coast to Quarteira, where fado singer Katia Guerreiro joins the Orchestra do Sul for a show at Calçadão Nascente de Quarteira integrated with Festival Caixa a Sul 2016.
The ever-popular Tony Carreira returns to Loulé on August 27th at the Duarte Pacheco monument, followed on the 28th by HMB which will play at the new Largo D. Afonso III within the Loulé historic zone.
Besides music, Loulé Summer features a Night Parade on August 26th from 21:30 at the Praça da República and Avenida 25 de Abril.
In creating Loulé Summer, the council of Loulé aims 'to put on once again a series of events that will astound holidaymakers for whom cultural and recreational initiatives are increasingly important at their holiday destination locations. After the MED Festival and White Night, Loulé Summer is an initiative that aims to be a reference in the event schedule for the Algarve during the summer season."
Tickets to see Mariza should still be available at the CineTeatro Loulé (13:00 to 18:00)
