Albufeira council has sent its best wishes for a good year in 2014 and its thanks to all those whose work in 2013 has started to develop the city for the better.
The mayor took the opportunity to highlight the efforts and commitment undertaken by associations, entrepreneurs and promoters of Albufeira throughout the year, also praising the New Year programme in Albufeira which he considers to be of national quality, "Albufeira remains a benchmark for its New Year's Eve celebrations and for the partnerships that it has developed which allows us to attract thousands of people each year."
The mayor also highlighted the need for efforts to overcome the adversities predicted in 2014. "The city has made an effort to overcome its financial difficulties and good results have emerged that a year from now, hopefully will become more visible. Today we need to develop our sense of community, to reach out and help those in need. Only with both feet on the ground, with our heads up, a smile on our faces can we share the good times when we reach our goals. I hope that 2014 will see the completion of another step in this direction."
"In 2014 the problems will remain, but we intend to continue to make the compromises necessary and continue to work with rigor, and to hear and solve the problem of people," concluded the mayor.
