bombeirosThe head of the Albufeira Bomberios is outraged by the wave of dodgy people asking for money, fooling motorists and pedestrians that they are fundraising for the local fire service.

These "mercenaries" have invaded the streets, often "wearing uniforms that even have the name of the institution," said Commander António Coelho, denouncing these organised groups that "usurp the image" of firefighters in a "clearly malicious strategy."

ZERO takes State to court over Montijo airport plan

An agreement was signed in January this year between the national airports operator, ANA, and the government despite the lack of an Environmental Impact Statement, a necessary step in the procedure.

Railway boss will attend to €2.6 billion debt pile

Centeno's support of Novo Banco rings hollow

University researchers lead study of nanoplastics in Portugal's rivers

The results have been published in the scientific journal Fungal Ecology, focused on the process of leaf decomposition, considered a crucial indicator for assessing the function and quality of freshwater systems. For this, the team used five species of hyphomycetes - aquatic fungi that play the main role in the decomposition of leaves.

Algarve denied a Court of Appeal
