How time flies, one of Carvoeiro’s longest established Property Management company’s, like the rest of us, is very much looking forward to 2021! Although for a different reason as they will celebrate 40 years of providing a very personal service to their owners in Praia do Carvoeiro.
The company was formed back in 1981 by an English couple, then Cathy and Jim Prentice took over in 1989. Since 2002 the company is now headed by Cathy and Jim’s nephew, Kevin Owenson and he has overseen the development and transition of services provided by Property Managers in the 80’s to the demands and expectations of owners in 2020 going into 2021.
It’s a far cry for Kevin as his background is in the hi-tech semiconductor manufacturing world, holding senior management positions with various trips to Japan presenting at seminars. He now finds himself working harder than ever in his little gem that is Praia do Carvoeiro.
“Having been the main rental agent for my Aunt Cathy back in 1989, I had visited Carvoeiro 50 times between 1989 - 2002 and gradually fell in love with the town (then a village). When I had the chance to move over permanently back in 2002, it was an opportunity that I just had to grasp with both hands. Putting all my management experience into play, this time not in the production of micro-chips but in managing all the needs of our clients in making the ownership of their property as easy and joyful as possible”.
With an office based in Carvoeiro, all of Kevin’s properties can be reached within 5 minutes by car, so Kevin (a familiar site and not easily missed in Carvoeiro at 2 metres tall!) and his team are never far away. His company assists with an array of services ranging from renting (www.algarvillas.net), housekeeping, pool maintenance, gardening, bill paying through to dealing with lawyers, accountants, town council and Finanças and almost everything else in between.
