The laws governing Portugal's so called Golden Visa changed at the beginning of this year. But it is not all bad news for the Algarve, as much of our region still qualifies where classified as interior or low density.
More importantly, the ban on real estate investment for residency via the Golden Visa is only applicable to property designated for “habitation”. This means that properties classified for other uses, such as touristic or commercial still qualify under the new rules.
